Director's Update

I just wanted to share a few thought shots before we break for a few days. First of all, the kids are absolutely KILLING IT in rehearsal. I've really appreciated their attentiveness (for the most part) and preparedness. It does bear repeating, please rehearse at home...in the car...at the gym...on the road next week. As a parent, I know weeknights are late for our little guys but they have been troopers! Parents, I appreciate your support in getting them to and from rehearsal. It's a huge commitment during the school year and it doesn't go unnoticed!

NOW: THE NITTY GRITTY

What about costumes?
Over the course of the next few days, the characters listed on this page will begin to appear in blue: Seussical Costume List. When that happens, the character's costume sheet will be available in PDF format. All costume pieces should be secured by October 30th to insure enough time for last minute alterations, etc. NOTE: When ordering pieces online, it is always best to do it earlier rather than later. No one wants to be waiting on a delivery close to tech week!

What about tickets?
Online tickets will go LIVE next week! So, be ready to spread the word! Paper ticket sales will also be available and presales will take place prior to several rehearsals. We generally ask our cast members to take orders and bring them to those rehearsals...more details on that later!

Volunteer Committees...YOU GUYS ROCK!
I'm not going to lie. When I read the number of parents who had signed up to help in different areas, I was amazed! THANK YOU! If you haven't been contacted by your department head, it's my understanding that the ball in that area hasn't started rolling, so just be patient! Many of these areas don't get jumping until closer to tech week. SET, PROP & COSTUME committees, however, will be hitting it soon! Thank you for your patience and we get started!

Rehearsal Attendance
Tony McDonald (Stage Manager) has done an excellent job keep track of conflict calendars and attendance at each rehearsal. (Really, he keeps track of everything...even me!) Please make sure that you are contacting either Tony or myself if you will be late to a rehearsal. Reminder: only two unexcused absences are allowed per cast member.

Shout Outs
  • Big thanks to Cassie & Megan for working tirelessly on the business side of things for this production!
  • Evan (Cat) has been an incredible leader and mentor for the cast. I've appreciated his professionalism in leading choreo sessions all the while keeping up with his own demanding role! (Not an easy task!)
  • Bryan Fairbanks and Linda Courtney have been wonderful and encouraging to our cast during rehearsals. Tackling a show of this nature is no easy vocal feat but our cast is getting stronger and more confident all the time thanks to these wonderful musicians!
  • Trevor Dyer has been working on our Seussical shirts...so stay tuned about that!
  • Richard Risher (General Schmitz) & Pat Farley (Yertle the Turtle) have stepped in as our more seasoned cast members in this production and the cast has loved working with them!
  • Abram Tramel (Elephant Bird) brightens up the room whenever he pays us a visit and reminds us all why we're doing this in the first place!
A person's a person no matter how small...

I appreciate ALL of you!
