Tech Week Notes

These are my Monday thoughts/ramblings. Forgive me if I'm oversharing but it's my nature this stage of the game.

CALL TIMES

  • 5:30 - Fiona, Donkey, Shrek, Pinocchio, Farquaad, Dragon (specialty makeup/mics)
  • 6:00 - All Cast (You are expected to be in costumes/wigs/makeup either when you arrive or do it at the Chapel)
  • 6:30 - Warmups, sound checks
  • 7:00 - Begin full tech run of show. PARENTS - Please be patient with us tonight-Wed. There are many moving parts that must come together in a short amount of time. We will be troubleshooting tech issues tonight and tomorrow. Trust the process.
  • 9:00 - Estimated end time. You will need to come into the Chapel to pick up your child.
  • NO CAST MEMBER IS ALLOWED IN THE HOUSE once warmups are over. No running out to your parents, me, etc. If you need something, tell your green room volunteer or Tony.
CHAPEL USE/CARE
  • We are caretakers of our space this week and have been trusted to treat the facility with respect.
    • NO FOOD OR DRINK INSIDE CHAPEL
    • Food/drink is FINE in green room. You must clean up after yourself!
    • Costumes cannot be left each night in green rooms. These are classrooms in use during the school day. You MAY leave your costume on the stage near the platforms.
    • NO HANGING ANYTHING ON LIGHTING TRUSS. PERIOD. THE END.
    • Only specific people will have makeup done on site. Everyone else is responsible for their own makeup. Those with specialty makeup include:
      • Shrek
      • Donkey
      • Farquaad
      • Pinocchio
      • Dragon
      • Fiona (quick change)
      • Duloc Dancers (wigs)
  • Alway, always clean up after yourselves and others. If you see floating feathers from boas, pick them up. Empty water bottles get thrown away. Respect the space.
  • Only stay in designated spaces - Girls - Room 6, Boys - Room 8
PROPS
  • Double check your props before warmups. Ask TONY, DANELE, MARY PAT or LAUREN if you're missing a prop.
  • Never touch a prop that's not yours! Ever.
  • Make sure props go back as soon as you exit the stage.
SETS
  • Only specific folks will move sets.
  • Unless you've been asked to move a piece, do not touch it.
COSTUMES
  • Everyone is expected to be in full costume from this point on.
  • Quick changes should be easily accessible. Use your time wisely.
  • Ask a green room mom/dad for help when you need it.
BE FLEXIBLE
  • Tech means anything and everything that could possibly happen probably will.
  • Be prepared to run a scene more than once so lighting/sound cues can be marked.
  • If we don't get to your scene tonight, we WILL get to it tomorrow.
ALWAYS BE PROFESSIONAL AND RESPECTFUL
